York Region offers Easter Greetings
On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, I offer warmest wishes to residents across York Region celebrating the Easter holidays.
Beginning Friday, March 29, 2024, and culminating on Sunday morning, York Region’s Christian communities will celebrate Easter to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and reflect on the message of hope, forgiveness, compassion and redemption.
In extending greetings for a happy Easter, Regional Council encourages residents across York Region to commit to building welcoming and inclusive communities where diversity is celebrated, and everyone feels they belong.
York Region is one of Canada’s fastest growing and most diverse communities. Our residents come from 238 distinct ethnic origins, and 68% report having a religious affiliation. Whether Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh or non-religious, this diversity is a source of strength and contributes to the rich cultural fabric of our communities.
During Easter, we celebrate the significant contributions of our Christian residents and celebrate our common commitment to building a better and more inclusive York Region for all.
Happy Easter!
